Some significance has been given to dials with a visible 6 in the seconds bit... these have been called 'true' montgomery dials in comparison to examples that lack the numeral in the seconds bit... those being call numerical dials

We do know there were differnent style dials designed by Montgomery and patented.....

Supposedly the absence of the 6 prevented intrusion on the patent.....

Whut saye ewe ? :D

you are making my point--M can have/have not the "6"

looks like the experts are wrong again!:vomit:

Jon,

Did the patent specify the 6 was to be present?

also, note... Barry G posted the "true" statement in 2001....

I had heard the terms "full Montgomery" and "half Montgomery" to differentiate between the 6 and not having the 6 hour mark.

tes, sir

the simple solution is to state whether, or not, it has the "6"--oh too easy for the green board boys
