Default what is an experimental?

many 149ers have been reading rants by socalled BIG experts about this and that--experimentals, watches these clowns claim are not unique but experimental; so the question begs what exactly is an experimental?

Yes, as subsequent tests of the "known truth". More then one experimental would be needed to prove the "test".

don't think so.............would a run of, say, ten, exact examples be classified as experimental?

Then, what is a one of a kind?????????????????/

add:

there has been a tendancy to call anything a-typical or rare as "experimental"

I tend to take a conservative view of this. Something that is "unique" is by definition, a one-of-a-kind item. There cannot be anything else like it. An experimental item is something that tests a theory or experience. It could be a unique item or there could be copies of it.

Regards,
Dave

I guess we would have to have been there to know if Mr Howard considered it experimental or not. I just don't see any harm in the whole thing. It is nice to see an interesting article in the Bulletin for a change. Don't see many folks submitting much else these days.
