Hamilton Watch Company, 1892-1969 Born out of the Adams and Perry and Lancaster line of watches made in Lancaster, Pa., Hamilton achieved notority in the watch world as building one of the best performing watches. Made many watches in various grades and sizes, from 7-23, plus one in 25 jewels (unique); in hunting and open face. designs. Especially famous for massive advertising campaigns and the well known and highly successful 992-B.

BTW, I paid $900 for the 939.

While I have you here, I'll post the early ball 18s dial which is very similar to your Hamilton PL dial in the other thread. This is on 13293.

That dial is very similar to the one I have posted in an earlier 932 thread, except it has a jeweler's name on it...

Good reread that parallels the current greenboard disussion - can anyone further explicate the correlation between letters marked on the BB and the grades? The only time I have seen the letter marking is on Balls with the letter "A."

Thrilled to see that pic of 8782, 8774 can be seen at http://williamkapp.tripod.com/id34.htm

Has anyone ever seen a pic of 8711? That is the third one believed to exist in this run marked Ball and Co, the others seem to be private labels or Ball Jewelers.
