Detent Stems Waltham Mod. 88 vs. Hamilton early 16s

I would like to invite comments on the early Hamilton 16s watches that had Detent stems and 17s dial plates.

This system is identical to the Waltham Model 88. I have used stems from both watches and they will work in either one. This is a unique stem system on American watches. It didn't last long in the Hamilton production.

I believe that Hamilton hired the people away from Waltham that worked on the Model 88 to start up their 16 size watch line, however I don't really know.

I HAVE SEEN WELL WORN OUT WALTHAM MOV'TS THAT WERE HARD TO REMOVE DUE TO BROKEN SET SCREWS AND DETENT PARTS ON THE MOV'T.

I was loking for some imformation as to who at Walthan had the patent or who the men were that went to Hamilton and carried Waltham's detent stem system with them to start up Hamilton's 16 size watch line.
